An Army MI-17 helicopter crashed at Kannur in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday. The helicopter caught fire due to the accident in dense forests. The helicopter was carrying 14 Army officers including Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika. General Rawat has been admitted to the Military Hospital in Wellington. But there is no statement from the army so far on how their situation is. Rawat served as army chief from 31 December 2016 to 31 December 2019.
