New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi today asked the people of the country to nominate inspirational persons for Padma awards, which he has named People's Padma. The last date for nominations for the Padma awards is September 15. Prime Minister Modi has also tweeted about it. "There are many talented people in India who are doing extraordinary work on the ground. Often, we can't see or hear the most people out of them, do you know such inspiring people? The Union Home Ministry has appealed to all Union Ministries, States, and other awardees to identify persons whose excellence and achievements should be recognized. In his first 'Mann Ki Baat' address of the year in January, PM Modi had appealed to the people of the country to learn from "individuals who work selflessly to learn about the heroic hero." He also shared a link to the Padma Awards portal where people can post their nominations. An official release said that nominations or recommendations for Padma awards will be received online. The Government has also made provision for self-nomination.
