New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi today addressed the nation in the first episode of his monthly radio programme of this year 'Mann Ki Baat'. This is the 85th episode of 'Mann Ki Baat' to be aired on the last Sunday of every month, which was broadcast on ALL India Radio News and mobile app from 11.30 am onwards. Prime Minister Modi spoke on several topics including Mahatma Gandhi's death anniversary, education, corona, Republic Day, Subhas Chandra Bose Jayanti. Pm Modi discusses Amrit Mahotsav, the biggest of Mahatma Gandhi's death anniversary.

PM Modi said, "On Amrit Mahotsav, all of you colleagues send me a lot of letters and messages, many suggestions are also given. Something has happened in this series that is unforgettable for me. I have been sent by more than one crore children through their Mann Ki Baat postcard by writing. The excitement of the Amrit Mahotsav of India's independence is not only in our country. I have also received 75 postcards from India's friendly country Croatia," Prime Minister Modi said, adding, "There are a lot of people from different walks of life in our country who are fulfilling their responsibility towards the society by helping others. I am very happy that such an attempt is being seen continuously in the field of higher education, especially in our different IITs." 

"This time in the Republic Day parade, the President's bodyguard's charger horse Virat participated in his final parade. The horse Virat, came to Rashtrapati Bhavan in 2003 and led the parade as commandant charger every time on Republic Day. Even when a foreign head of state was welcomed to Presidential House, he used to play this character. This year, on Army Day, horse Virat was also given a COAS Commendation Card by the Army Chief. In view of Virat's great services, he was given a farewell in an equally great way after his retirement."
