PM Modi seeking for new ideas for e-waste management, electric mobility

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi invited suggestions for e-waste management, electric mobility solutions, and the circular economy from the IT and electronics sector on Wednesday.

PM Modi remarked that the nation should explore new solutions to handle e-waste with the help of technology to advance the "Swachh Bharat Mission" during a post-budget webinar on "technology-enabled-development." I strongly encourage you to concentrate on the circular economy, e-waste management, and electric mobility options. On these issues, the Indian government is looking for input from the IT and electronics industries," he stated.

"Science and technology is not an isolated sector since it is directly associated with the digital economy and is built on modern technology, which is now focusing on fast delivery and empowering individuals," the Prime Minister said, adding that science is global but technology should be local.

PM Modi also stated that the Union Budget for the years 2022-2023 focuses on skilling programmes that will promote continual skilling, sustainability, and employment.

"Technology is driving infrastructure improvement; even public distribution systems are being linked to digital platforms." Technology will be critical in constructing Aatma Nirbhar Bharat. Telecommunications in general, and 5G technology in particular, can help businesses grow and create jobs. In 2022, spectrum auctions will be held to help with the launch of 5G mobile services in 2022-23," he said.
