PM Modi Set to Launch AIIMS Rewari and Gurugram Metro Project

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the long-awaited Gurugram Metro project and lay the foundation stone for AIIMS Rewari on February 16. The Gurugram Metro project, a significant demand of the city, aims to connect the old part of Gurugram to the metro network.

The project, approved last June, will extend the metro from the Huda City Metro station to Cyber Hub, covering a distance of 26.65 km and costing approximately Rs.5,452 crore. It will be executed by Gurugram Metro Rail Ltd, a joint venture between the Haryana and Central governments.

Simultaneously, PM Modi will inaugurate AIIMS Rewari, which spans 210 acres and is estimated to cost around Rs.1,231 crore. This will be the twenty-second AIIMS facility in India and is a part of the government's initiative to strengthen healthcare infrastructure across the country.

The hospital will boast 750 beds, an outpatient facility catering to 1,500 patients daily, a medical college with 100 seats, 25 super-specialty departments, and a nursing college. Originally planned for Manethi, the project's location was shifted to Majra Bhalkhi due to environmental concerns regarding the Aravalli forest area.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is reportedly planning to capitalize on the event by organizing a rally, aiming to attract around 1 lakh people to witness the live telecast. In preparation for this, the BJP held a strategic rally on Sunday to mobilize support and ensure a successful event.
