NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will join fellow parliamentarians for a special screening of the movie The Sabarmati Report today at 4 pm today, December 2. The event will take place at the Balyogi Auditorium in the Parliament Library Complex.

The film, starring Vikrant Massey in the lead role, depicts the tragic events surrounding the 2002 Godhra train incident. It has sparked significant attention, particularly from political circles, including the BJP. PM Modi previously praised the film for "revealing the truth" behind the incident and criticized the “fake narratives” that have surrounded it, emphasizing that “facts will always come out.”

In a post on X, PM Modi shared the film's trailer, stating, “Well said. It is good that this truth is coming out, and that too in a way common people can see it. A fake narrative can persist only for a limited period. Eventually, the facts will always come out!”

Film Declared Tax-Free in Seven BJP-ruled States

Seven BJP-governed states, including Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat, have declared The Sabarmati Report tax-free. Vikrant Massey, the lead actor, expressed his gratitude, saying, “The Uttar Pradesh government has made this film tax-free. I want to thank Yogi Adityanath ji. This is an important film, and I appeal to everyone to go and watch it."

Directed by Dheeraj Sarna, the movie is produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Amul V Mohan, and Anshul Mohan. It also stars Raashii Khanna and Ridhi Dogra.
