Uttar Pradesh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for the Purvanchal Expressway in Karwal Kheri, Sultanpur district, Uttar Pradesh. For the occasion, a C-130 Hercules plane carrying Prime Minister Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is expected to land at the airfield. At 1:30 p.m., the president will be inaugurated. According to the PMO, PM Modi will also see an airshow put on by the Indian Air Force on the 3.2 km long airstrip erected on the Expressway in Sultanpur district to allow Indian Air Force fighter planes to land and take off in the case of an emergency. On the Lucknow-Sultanpur road (NH-731), the Purvanchal Expressway begins in village Chaudsarai, district Lucknow, and ends at hamlet Hydaria, 18 kilometres east of the Uttar Pradesh-Bihar border, on National Highway number 31. On another event, on the occasion of the first Audit Diwas, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also inaugurated a statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at the office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) in New Delhi.
