CHAMBA: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to launch Rs.3,000 crore Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana-scheme- third Phase, sanctioned for Chamba in Himachal Pradesh tomorrow, October 13. Jai Ram Thakur, Chief minister of Himachal Pradesh reviewed the current preparations for the Prime Minister's public rally when he arrived in Chamba on Wednesday, some 450 kilometers from the state capital. PM Modi will address a massive public meeting at the famous Chowgan, or the public promenade in the historic town of Chamba, which ranks 95th in the Central government's list of the country's 115 backward districts. To ensure the rally's success, the Chief Minister instructed the authorities to make all preparations in a perfect way. He continued that all necessary criteria must be met. The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for the 30.5 MW Deothal-Chanju and 48 MW Chanju-III hydroelectric projects in addition to announcing the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana-III plan. Both projects will cost around Rs 800 crore to build, according to state-run Himachal Pradesh Power Corp Ltd. (HPPCL). On October 5, Modi lay the first of around Rs 3,650 crore worth of foundation stones for several sectors, including the AIIMS Bilaspur. Following the inauguration of the development projects, Modi emphasized at a public assembly in Bilaspur town that a new way of thinking had emerged over the previous eight years. "The BJP's double engine government has given the state new infrastructure in all respects," Modi had said in the mass public address.
