NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to lead a two-day conference of Chief Secretaries in Delhi, commencing Thursday, and Friday, January 28, 29. This marks the third National Conference of Chief Secretaries, following previous sessions in Dharamshala in June 2022 and Delhi in January 2023. These conferences serve as a platform fostering collaboration between the Central government and state administrations to promote inclusive governance. The current conference aims to kickstart discussions today, continuing for three days and drawing over 200 participants, including representatives from the Central government, chief secretaries, and senior officials from all states and Union territories. The primary goal outlined by the Prime Minister's Office is to lay the groundwork for joint efforts aimed at enhancing the quality of life for both rural and urban communities. The conference's central theme revolves around 'Ease of Living,' intending to craft a unified development strategy in partnership with the states. Under this overarching theme, discussions will delve into five key sub-themes: land and property, electricity, drinking water, health, and schooling. Additionally, specialized sessions will focus on crucial topics like cyber security challenges, perspectives on AI, regional development initiatives, and the optimization of government schemes. Furthermore, the agenda will spotlight aspects such as drug de-addiction, tourism promotion, and specific government initiatives like PM Vishwakarma Yojana and PM SVANidhi. The Prime Minister's Office also highlighted plans to share successful state-level practices within these domains, allowing others to replicate these achievements or adapt them according to their specific needs.
