Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to present the inaugural National Creators Award at the Bharat Mandapam, tomorrow, March 8. This prestigious award, announced by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), aims to celebrate excellence and impact across various fields such as storytelling, social change advocacy, environmental sustainability, travel, technology, education, and gaming. In a statement, the PMO highlighted the significance of recognizing the talent and contributions of creators, especially in the age of social media. PM Modi himself expressed his enthusiasm for honoring the remarkable talents of India's youth in content creation. The National Creators Award has garnered significant public engagement, with over 1.5 lakh nominations received across 20 different categories in the first round. Subsequently, around 10 lakh votes were cast for digital creators in various award categories. From these, 23 winners, including three international creators, were selected. The lineup of nominees is diverse, featuring both established figures and emerging talent. Among the nominees are celebrities like Katrina Kaif, Kangana Ranaut, Jackie Shroff, and spiritual leader Sadhguru. Social media influencers such as Komal Pandey and Siddharth Batra are also in contention, along with outstanding storytellers like Zakir Khan and Keerthika Govindasamy. The award will be presented across 20 categories, including best storyteller, disruptor of the year, celebrity creator, green champion, best creator for social change, and more. It's a testament to the rich creativity and innovation present in India's digital landscape.
