PM Modi urges media to ‘play constructive role ‘in democracy

 

New Delhi [India], October 28: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday called upon the media group to play a constructive role in democracy.

Addressing the media at 'Diwali Milan' programme at the BJP headquarters here, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "Media must play a constructive role in democracy."

The Prime Minister also stressed out upon the significance of democracy asserting that all political parties must talk about democracy.

"It is a challenging time for us and we still have to do a lot more work. It is important to discuss democracy in political parties,” PM Modi added.

The Prime Minister also thanked the Indian media for supporting and lauding with great enthusiasm Centre's cleanliness drive 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.'

"The country has witnessed the positive role played by media in making the Swachh Bharat Mission a success," Modi quoted.

BJP president Amit Shah along with all senior party leaders, including G V L Narasimha Rao and Sambit Patra, were also in attendance at this event.

 Apart from them Union Minister Smriti Irani also participated in the event.
