Bollywood veteran actor Dilip Kumar died, PM Modi says 'this is a loss to cultural world'

New Delhi: Noted film actor Dilip Kumar has passed away at the age of 98. Hinduja Hospital has confirmed the passing away of famous film actor Dilip Kumar. He had been ill for the past several days and was admitted to the hospital several times. Dr Jalil Palkar of Hinduja Hospital confirmed Dilip Kumar's death and told the media that he breathed his last at 7:30 am on Wednesday.

Dr Jalil said he died of age related diseases. Dilip Kumar's twitter handle reported his demise at 8 am in a tweet. The tweet was tweeted by his family friend Faisal Farooqi. The tweet reads, "With a heavy heart and deep sorrow, I am announcing that our favourite Dilip Saab did not stay a while ago. We have come from God and have to return to him - Decision Farooqi." PM Narendra Modi tweeted on Dilip Kumar's death, terming it as a loss to the cultural world. He wrote in a tweet, "Dilip Kumar ji will be remembered as a cinematic legend. He was rich in unique talent, which enthralled the audience from generation to generation. His departure is a huge loss to our cultural world. His family, friends and innumerable fans have condolences. RIP."
