PM releases special stamps on 12 unsung 'Rockstars of AYUSH'

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today issued postage stamps in the name of 12 AYUSH experts on Friday. The modern AYUSH masters, in the honour of whom, the special stamps were released, include Dinshaw Mehta, Hakim Mohammad Abdul Aziz Lakhnawi, Swami Kuvalayananda, Hakim Mohammad Kabiruddin and Vaidya YadavJi TrikamJi Acharya among others.

"We are opening 1.5 lakh health, wellness centres, aim to build 12,000 Ayush centres, 4000 to be completed this year," the prime minister said at the Yoga Awards event held at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi today.

Under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, patients who have received free treatment so far would have to spend more than Rs 12 thousand crore if they were not covered. In a way, millions of poor families in the country have saved Rs 12 thousand crore.

PM furher said, "Prevention and afford the building, as well as infrastructure in the country, are fast moving. Two days ago, the government has also announced the creation of 75 new medical colleges. This will enhance facilities for the treatment of serious diseases, as well as 16 thousand seats will be increased in MBBS.
