Parliament session: PM Modi said - 'There should be questions in the house, but also peace'

New Delhi: The winter session of Parliament begins today. On the very first day, the government is going to introduce a Bill (Farm Laws Repeal Bill) for the withdrawal of agricultural laws. According to reports, the bill will be introduced in the Lok Sabha first and is set to be introduced in the Upper House today itself. In view of this, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress have issued whips to their MPs to be present.

Even after the bill to return agricultural laws comes, parliament is expected to create a ruckus today as the opposition may demand a law on MSP. Farmers are adamant about the demand to enact a law on MSP and the opposition is going to corner the government on the issue. On the other hand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has strongly exhorted all opposition parties that the government is ready to answer all questions, ready for open talks, but there should be peace with questions in the House.

According to sources, the government may come up with a proposal to suspend 20 MPs who created ruckus in the monsoon session. Among the MPs who may propose suspension are Syed Nasir Hussain, Ripun Bora, Pratap Singh Bajwa, Phulo Devi Netam, Chhaya Verma, Akhilesh Prasad Singh, Deepende Hooda and Rajmani Patel of the Congress. Meanwhile, Dola Sen, Shanta Chhetri, Mausam Noor, Abir Ranjan Biswas and Arpita Ghosh may be suspended from TMC. Also, suspension proceedings may be taken against Priyanka Chaturvedi and Anil Desai from Shiv Sena and Elamaram Kareem from the left and Sanjay Singh of Aam Aadmi Party. It was because of the uproar by opposition MPs that the entire monsoon session was stormy and the House was adjourned for a few hours. So the government has become stricter even before the winter session begins.
