New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi will attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit on September 16. In addition to PM Modi, heads of state from seven other neighbouring countries will also attend the high-level meeting. This summit is extremely important in view of the recent episode of Afghanistan. Where the return of the terror group Taliban and the USÂ army was seen leaving Afghanistan 20 years later. The issue of Afghanistan is likely to be prominently included in this meeting.
the SCO Summit comprises eight member states, including Russia, China, India, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan. Tajikistan is the current president of the group. The meeting will be held in hybrid mode in the capital Dushanbe from September 16 to 17. Chinese President Xi Jinping is also expected to attend the conference virtually. Pakistani PM Imran Khan, Russian President Vladimir Putin and other Central Asian countries will personally attend the meeting. In the past two months, there have been several meetings of foreign, defence and national security advisers of the SCO in Dushanbe.
