Lucknow: PM Narendra Modi has also attended a meeting on Thursday to decide the names of candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. This is the first time that PM Modi himself has joined the ticket brainstorming. The day-long meeting on ticket distribution was held at the BJP headquarters in Delhi on Wednesday and now the brainstorming is going on once again. PM Modi attended the same meeting virtually. Apart from PM Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari also joined online. Apart from these leaders, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and two Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dinesh Sharma were present at the headquarters. One of the important issues discussed in the meeting is whether CM Yogi Adityanath will contest or not. At the same time, whether CM Yogi will contest from Ayodhya or Mathura is also under discussion. However, sources said, the party seems to be agreeing to field CM Yogi Adityanath from Ayodhya in an election riot. If Yogi Adityanath enters the election summer, this will be his first assembly election. Earlier, CM Yogi had been an MP from Gorakhpur parliamentary seat 5 times and resigned only after becoming chief minister. He was then elected as a Member of the Legislative Council.
