PM Modi calls hockey team to congratulate on historic victory, video of conversation gone viral

New Delhi: The Indian men's hockey team has created history in Tokyo Olympics. The Indian hockey team defeated Germany 5-4 to win the bronze medal. The men's hockey team at the Olympics has won a medal Olympics after a long gap of 41 years. The hockey team is celebrating this spectacular victory all over the country.

 

 

In the same vein, PM Narendra Modi himself has called up and congratulated the hockey team. A video of hockey captain Manpreet Singh and coach Graham Reed's conversation with PM Modi has also surfaced in the media. PM Modi is telling captain Manpreet Singh over the phone that "Manpreet congratulations very much. After what you and the whole team have done, the whole country is swinging. The whole team has worked hard. Congratulations to the entire team on my behalf.'' PM Modi said, 'Today the entire country is proud of all of you.' PM Modi then spoke to team coach Graham Reed.

 

 

Earlier, PM Modi had also tweeted his congratulations to the entire team. PM Modi tweeted from his official Twitter handle that, 'Happy India! Inspired India! Proud India! The hockey team's spectacular victory in Tokyo is a proud moment for the entire country. This is a new India, an India full of confidence. Many congratulations and best wishes to the hockey team again.'
