PM Relief Fund money given to Rajiv Gandhi Foundation: BJP

Amidst a war between the Congress and the BJP over the India- China Clash along with LAC, BJP is targeting the grand old party over the utilization of Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF) fund. Now, BJP has alleged that PMNRF money was given to Rajiv Gandhi Foundation during the UPA rule. Recently, BJP president JP Nadda said that Gandhi family’s hunger for wealth hurt the country.

Launching the sharp attacking on the congress, the saffron party said that the congress has diverted PM Relief fund money to Rajiv Foundation headed by Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi. BJP alleged that  It shows how the Congress party’s top ranks misused poor people’s money for making its popularity. BJP questioned, "How the Congress party’s foundation accepts funds from the Chinese embassy to the tune of Rs 1.45 crore?"  BJP further said that the fund transfer must be from NGO to NGO or Govt to Govt. But not China Govt to an NGO in Delhi. This shows that UPA government led by congress was corrupt. When the Congress leaders claimed that there is not wrong-doing in accepting the funds from China, BJP raises the question why China donates such a huge amount to Rajiv Foundation?

For your information, let us tell you that India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru had set up PMNRF in 1948 entirely with public contributions. It was made to utilised primarily to give relief to families of people killed in natural calamities, and to victims of major accidents and riots, according to its website.
