Police raids Bijnore madrasa, 6 arrested with weapons

Bijnore: In Uttar Pradesh, police have recovered illegal weapons during a raid at a madrasa in Bijnore district. The case has come to light from Sherkot police station area of Bijnore district where police have recovered illegal arms and live cartridges during raids on a Madarsa on the secret information of the informant. Police have arrested six persons, including a Madarsa operator, after illegal arms were recovered.

According to information, the police is engaged in interrogating the arrested persons in this case. A total of 21 children are studying in this seminary, of which 14 are from Bihar and 7 from UP. The top police officer is yet to reveal anything about the incident. The Darul Quran Hamedia madarsa of Sherkot police station area has been going on for many years, with about 21 children studying in madarsas. On receiving information from the informant, sherkot police and Afzalgarh CO Kripa Shankar Kannaujia along with a heavy police force conducted raids at the seminary where six illegal tents and several live cartridges were recovered from a room.

Six persons, including Madarsa operator Mohammad Sajid, Qari Alexander, Qari Sabir, Zafar Hazrat Azizur Rahman and his son, have been taken into custody by the police on the spot. As of now, it is not yet known where the illegal gun in Madarsa came from and who has brought it. At the same time, top police officials are not ready to tell the media anything about the incident. Police are conducting a thorough investigation into the whole case and interrogating the arrested accused.
