Bhopal: In Madhya Pradesh, the Congress government, which returned to power after a gap of 15 years, presented its first general budget on Wednesday. The budget, worth over 2.33 lakh crore rupees, focuses on farmers, youth and women. At the same time, the General Budget of Madhya Pradesh promises to implement the Right to Health and the Right to Water. State Finance Minister Tarun Bhanot presented the state's General Budget for 2019-20 on Wednesday.

The total appropriation amount in this budget is Rs 233,606 crore. This is the deficit budget. The fiscal deficit in the current budget is 3.34 per cent. The state finance minister has accused the centre of being biased against the state. He has said that the central government has cut the amount to the state by Rs 2,700 crore.  The Kamal Nath government's budget has given special attention to farmers. The budget of the Department of Agriculture has been increased by 66 per cent.

A provision of Rs 8,000 crore has been added for the Jai Kisan Crop Loan Waiver Scheme launched to waive off farmers' loans. With this, a provision of Rs 132 crore has been made for 1,000 cowsheds in the state. A provision of Rs 1,000 crore has been added to give bonus to farmers. Credit cards will be provided to farmers for loans to animal husbandry and fishermen at concessional rate of interest.
