MP Opposition Leaders Condemn Government Over Unemployment and Online Gambling

Bhopal: Police resorted to tear gas and water cannons on Tuesday to disperse protesting Youth Congress workers as they attempted to march towards the state assembly to highlight the issue of unemployment.

The Youth Congress demonstration commenced from the Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) office with the intention of 'gheraoing' the state assembly. However, police intervened near the Red Cross Hospital in Shivaji Nagar, deploying tear gas and water cannons to disband the crowd.

Among the participants were Youth Congress National President Srinivas BV, Youth Congress State President and Jhabua MLA Vikrant Bhuria, PCC Chief Jitu Patwari, Leader of Opposition Umant Singhar, and other prominent leaders.

Addressing the media, PCC Chief Patwari criticized the government's failure to fulfill its promise of creating two lakh jobs in the first year and ensuring employment for every family. He denounced the legalization of online gambling, asserting that the people of Madhya Pradesh did not vote for the BJP to permit gambling but for job opportunities.

Youth Congress National President Srinivas accused the state BJP government of promoting gambling and referred to it as a "gambling government." He criticized the government as being remote-controlled from Delhi under the leadership of Mohan Yadav. Srinivas reiterated the intention to 'gherao' the state assembly as a form of protest against the government's actions.
