In this sequence, Samastipur police raided with a piece of secret news and arrested 5 smugglers with a huge quantity of ganja, pistol and live cartridges from a Swift car. Dalsinghsarai police had received a tip-off that a smuggler had landed in Begusarai with ganja from Kamakhya Express and was coming towards Dalsinghsarai in a Swift Dzire vehicle. On this news, the police started investigating the vehicles by putting up barricades near NH 28 in Dhepura. Due to this, when a white Swift car was checked, 42 kg of ganja was seized from it. Along with this, 5 persons sitting in the car were searched, out of them a pistol, 10 live cartridges, and 2 magazines were recovered from Deepak Kumar. Apart from this, the police have also seized Rs 12,640 and 4 mobile phones from the smugglers. DSP Dinesh Pandey said that the smugglers confessed to their involvement and told in the interrogation that ganja was smuggled from Assam and supplied to businessmen in Dalsinghsarai, Vidyapatinagar, Bithan and Samastipur. All these smugglers are working as members of an organised gang. The police have registered an FIR against the five smugglers and sent them to jail.
