New Delhi: Under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana (PMGKY), the Modi government of the Center is giving ration to the families continuously in a nationwide lockdown. Meanwhile, the central government has prepared a blueprint for providing free ration to poor families for the next three months. According to the report released by the central government, under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana (PMGKY), Rs 46,000 crore has been allocated. To provide food grains to poor families, 104.4 lakh tonnes of rice will be required in the next three months. So far, the central government has lifted 56.7 lakh tonnes of rice for different states. Similarly, 15.6 lakh tonnes of wheat will be required in the next three months. At the same time, the government has so far allocated 7.7 lakh tonnes of wheat to various states. Apart from this, 190857 tonnes of pulses have also been sent to the states. Giving information to the central government, a senior official said that due to the lockdown, the government has a keen eye on increasing the prices of grains and essential commodities or black marketing. The central government has directed that if the prices of essential commodities are increased, states are allowed to take action against the culprits under the EC Act.
