President to visit Iceland, Switzerland and Slovenia

New Delhi: President Ram Nath Kovind is going to visit three countries on Monday 9 September. The President will visit Iceland, Switzerland and Slovenia. During this visit, he will inform the top leadership of the said countries about India's 'national concerns', especially in the light of this year's terrorist incidents, including the Pulwama attack.

When Secretary (West) of the Ministry of External Affairs, A. Jitesh Sarma was asked whether the President would brief him on Kashmir during the talks with the leaders of those countries, he did not give a clear answer. He said that "when leaders meet, there is a framework in which topics of regional, international, global, multilateral and national concern are discussed."

Giving information about the nine-day visit of President Ramnath Kovind, Sarma said, 'We always use such occasions to brief each other. Each country has its own concerns, as are our issues. So we will definitely use these opportunities because we have to make them aware of the concerns of our country. ' Sarma said that the President would first visit Iceland on 9 September, after which he would visit Switzerland and Slovenia.
