President's candidate Murmu seen sweeping temple, video goes viral

New Delhi: NDA's presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu offered prayers at the Rairangpur Jagannath Temple in Mayurbhanj, Odisha on Wednesday. He also put a broom in the temple premises here. Thereafter, he offered prayers at the Shiva temple. Not only this, Murmu also reached the tribal place of worship Jahira. The BJP on Tuesday named tribal leader Draupadi Murmu as the NDA's presidential candidate. Draupadi Murmu has also served as the first woman Governor of Jharkhand. Draupadi Murmu was born in Rairangpur village of Mayurbhanj, a tribal district of Odisha.      Murmu was a member of the ST Front in the Bjp's national executive in 2013. He held the position till April 10, 2015. She was elected district president of Mayurbhanj in Odisha in 2013. She was also elected district president in 2010. A day after being named as the presidential candidate, Draupadi Murmu has been given Z+ security by the Centre. After being fielded, he has sought support from all political parties. Draupadi Murmu said they were surprised. She can't believe she has been made a presidential candidate from the NDA. Murmu said, "I am grateful to all of you and do not want to speak much. Whatever powers the President has in the Constitution, I will act according to that.

On the other hand, Odisha Chief Minister and Biju Janata Dal chief Naveen Patnaik reacted to the appointment of Draupadi Murmu as the NDA's presidential candidate. "It is a proud moment for Odisha to have Draupadi Murmu as nda's presidential candidate. I was very happy when PM Narendra Modi spoke to me on this. She will set an example for women's empowerment in the country. Naveen Patnaik's statement is being considered as the final seal on Draupadi Murmu's appeal.
