New Delhi: The Congress on Saturday attacked PM Narendra Modi over the hike in the prices of petrol, diesel, cooking gas and several other essential commodities, saying that PM Modi is secular in the matter of price rise as he does not favour anyone in it. Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala also alleged that the increase in fuel and essential commodities prices in the recent past has put an additional burden of Rs 1,25,407 crore on the public. Talking to the press on Saturday, Randeep Surjewala said, "Inflation has now become an event in this country. The country is battered and plagued by expensive Modi-ism. BJP's electoral victory has become a 'licence of loot'. The increase in inflation since April 1 has put a burden of Rs 1,25,407 crore on the public. Surjewala further said, "62 crore farmers of the country have been burdened with taxes. The government is taking revenge for the farmers' agitation.'' Continuing the attack, Surjewala said that the share of dap manure per sack has been increased by Rs 150. Modi Ji gives a 'good morning gift' to the people of the country by increasing the price of petrol and diesel every day. In the last 12 days, the prices of petrol and diesel have been increased by Rs 7.20 per litre. The prices of cooking gas have been increased several times.
