Prince Harry & Meghan Markle pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth II through their Archewell foundation

The Royal family announced in a statement that Queen Elizabeth II passed away on September 8 in the afternoon. The 96-year-old king passed away at Scotland's Balmoral Castle. On Thursday, the Queen's family members flocked to her side as physicians expressed their first concerns over her health. Additionally, Prince Harry arrived in Scotland.

Meghan Markle did not travel to Balmoral with Prince Harry, but the Duke and Duchess of Sussex honoured the Queen solemnly through their Archewell foundation. The foundation's website was stripped of any other information about the organisation and its forthcoming events, with a message that was dedicated to the Queen, and its landing page was changed to an all-black background.  The website reads a message in white text that says, "In loving memory of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II" with the Queen's birth and death year mentioned below.

Buckingham Palace announced the tragic news on their social media handles as they wrote, "The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon." Following the monarch's passing, Prince Charles' new title was also confirmed by the statement which mentioned, "The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow."

Following the passing of the Queen on Friday, King Charles III is prepared to make a televised speech. The King will deliver this address in public for the first time since ascending to the throne. Prince William and Kate Middleton's titles have also been altered to the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and Cambridge in light of the Queen's demise, according to an update on their social media accounts.
