Priyanka Gandhi writes letter to CM Yogi, demands justice for Kafeel Khan

New Delhi: Congress Party National General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Thursday requested Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath to make an effort to get Justice to Kafeel Khan arrested for allegedly making inflammatory speeches. She has written in a letter to CM Yogi that, "I want to bring the case of Dr Kafeel Khan to your notice. He has spent more than 450 days in jail so far. Kafeel has served people selflessly in difficult situations."

The Uttar Pradesh in-charge of the Congress said, "I hope that you will show your sensitivity and try your best to get justice for Dr Kafeel". Priyanka Gandhi referred to a statement by CM Yogi's Guru Gorakhnath While writing, "Mana mēṁ rahiṇāṁ, bhēd na kahiṇāṁ, bōlibā amr̥it vāṇī, agilā aganī hō'ībā, hē avadhū tau āpaṇa hō'ībā pāṇīṁ". The meaning of these lines is not to discriminate against anyone, speak politely, if there is, then you yogi should become like water and calm it down".

A few months ago, Kafeel Khan was arrested on charges of making an inflammatory speech against the National Citizenship Act (CAA). Currently, Kafeel Khan is imprisoned in Mathura District Jail. Earlier, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra wrote a letter to CM Yogi Adityanath, suggested several steps to deal with the coronavirus crisis and also said that the condition of corona in the state is very serious, effective steps have to be taken.
