Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, a Congress member, wrote to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday, protesting "delays" in armed forces recruitment and urging him to take the necessary steps to ensure that applicants' hard work is acknowledged. The Congress general secretary wrote in her letter that it is the desire of the youth to serve their country by entering the armed forces, for which lakhs of them strive hard. "Youth from across the country have attempted to attract your and the government's attention to several crucial points pertaining to recruiting results, recruitment delays, and armed forces recruitment rallies," she stated. The exam for the recruitment of soldiers in the Air Force was held in November 2020, with the result released the same month, Gandhi stated, but despite the completion of all exams and the preliminary selection list being released, the enrollment list has not yet been released. The deadline of issuance of the enrollment list is being repeatedly extended, according to the youth involved in this recruiting, she added, requesting the defence minister to ensure that the final list is released as soon as possible. Apart from that, a recruitment exam for soldiers in the Air Force was held in July 2021, with lakhs of young people participating; the results were supposed to be revealed in August 2021, but they have yet to be out, she said.
