People protests against 'new labour law' in Indonesia

Jakarta: Protests against the new labor law in Indonesia have been going on since last month. Thousands of protesters protested against the new job law on Monday. Criticizing this law, he said that this law is destroying labor rights and weakening environmental protection. The Confederation of Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPI) reported that thousands of workers from 32 labor unions in West Java and East Java provinces attended mass rallies near the Presidential Palace and Constitutional Court in Jakarta. He said that this protest was to be held in Yogyakarta, Banda Ash, Medan and Makasar.

Demand for abolition of Job Creation Law: The protesters are demanding that the Job Creation Law should be abolished and the minimum wage should be increased in 2021. Iqbal, the president of the labor union, said that along with these demands, there is a demand for a judicial review of this law from the Constitutional Court. According to the information, this law was passed from Parliament on 5 October. After which a lot of changes are expected in Indonesia's labor system and management of natural resources.

Earlier, the protest took place on October 9: It is also being said that on October 9, there were protests against the labor law in Indonesia. In other Indonesian cities, thousands of students who were unhappy with this law had participated in the protest. Students and workers believe that this new law will violate the rights of human beings, not only that it will also harm our environment.
