Amritsar: Moga Police in Punjab has arrested Congress leader Amardeep Singh alias Ashu Bangar and his accomplice for alleged cheating and forgery. An FIR was registered against the Congress leader, his accomplice Hardeep Singh Brar, Muktsar and an unidentified person for allegedly forging documents and certificates for those who wanted to go abroad or were unemployed. An FIR has been registered against them under sections 420 (cheating), 465 (forgery), 467, 468 (forgery with the intention of cheating) and 120-B (conspiracy) of the IPC on the complaint of ASI Mohkam Singh. According to this, the police had received a tip-off that Bangar, along with his partner Brar, was running a gang that used to create fake documents and certificates for people who wanted to go abroad or were unemployed. Moga SSP Gulneet Singh Khurana has informed that Bangar is the co-owner of Medicity Hospital in Moga and is a resident of Armanpura village in Ferozepur. He said that the arrested people are being interrogated and an investigation is going on in the matter. Along with this, he told that on the basis of secret information received by the police, an FIR was registered in this case. Moga SSP also told that Brar is an immigration agent.
