Punjab calls an assembly meeting for September 27

CHANDIGARH: Bhagwant Mann, the chief minister of Punjab, announced on Thursday that the state government has now decided to call an Assembly session for discussion of different state-related topics on September 27.

The Chief Minister announced in a statement that the government would appeal the Supreme Court to challenge the Governor's anti-democratic and arbitrary decision to revoke the permission to hold a special session of the Vidhan Sabha after granting it. He said that they would appeal this erroneous ruling to the Supreme Court, calling it an unpleasant move.

The Supreme Court will likely hear an appeal of this ruling, according to Mann, because it protects both the states' and the public's democratic rights. The Chief Minister pointed his guns at the Punjab Congress for backing the BJP's "Operation Lotus," saying it is ironic that the Congress, which is the biggest sufferer of this anti-democratic operation, is supporting the saffron party.

Mann said that the BJP, Shiromani Akali Dal, and the Congress were all complicit in this nefarious plot to overthrow Punjab's democratically elected government. He said categorically that the Congress and the BJP have marginalised regional parties and that they now desire that power be restricted to them alone.

He said that the Aam Aadmi Party  has taken birth from an anti-corruption crusade and the party under the leadership of Delhi CM Kejriwal is picking up  momentum with every passing day.

He categorically asserted that they will fight back against any anti-democratic actions and will not be intimidated by threats. Mann believed that Punjab will demonstrate to the entire nation that in a democracy people and not any individual is supreme.
