New Delhi: Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi is currently on a visit to Jammu and Kashmir. Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi bowed his forehead at Kheerbhavani temple in Ganderbal district on Tuesday. This is Rahul Gandhi's first visit since section 370 was removed from the Union Territory. A Congress leader said Rahul, who arrived on a two-day visit to the state on Monday, reached a temple in the middle of the powerful Chinar in the Tullamulla area of central Kashmir district. He further said that Rahul Gandhi was accompanied by the party's general secretary organization and KC Venugopal. The Congress leader said, 'It was a personal visit. Rahul Gandhi wanted to bow his head at the temple.' After visiting the temple, Rahul Gandhi will also visit dargah Hazratbal Dargah on the banks of Dal Lake. Rahul Gandhi had also attended the wedding reception of Jammu and Kashmir congress committee chief Ghulam Ahmed Mir's son at a posh hotel in Srinagar on Monday evening. Rahul will inaugurate the Congress office at MA Road in the heart of Srinagar city at 11:30 pm on Tuesday. The inauguration of the Congress office in Jammu and Kashmir was delayed due to the corona epidemic. According to local media reports, the Congress leadership in Jammu and Kashmir had approached Gandhi for a short visit. State Congress unit president Ghulam Ahmed Mir will host a dinner party for Gandhi, other senior Congress leaders on Tuesday evening. The dinner party will also be attended by leaders of the People's Alliance for the Gupkar Declaration, including National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah, People's Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti, and the Communist Party of India (CPI) General Secretary Mohammad Yusuf Tarigami.
