Lucknow: Sanjeev Shukla, deputy inspector general rank officer of the home guard department of the country's most state Uttar Pradesh, has been suspended on charges of indiscipline. A departmental inquiry has been ordered against some officers for their alleged comments on an official WhatsApp group of the department over transfers. In a statement, he questioned some of the decisions of the Government which were considered indiscipline.
Confirming the suspension, Additional Chief Secretary Home Guard Anil Kumar said that some of the statements made by the DIG in the official WhatsApp group were found to be misleading and somewhat false. The home guard department works under direct CM Yogi Adityanath. Kumar said Shukla had recently raised questions on the transfer of officers to the department.
He said, "We have made all the transfers as per the laws. The transferred persons were also asked to forward their choice before they were transferred. All transfers were allowed by the Chief Minister." Kumar further said that officer Sanjeev Shukla had commented that corruption had spread in the department and the transfer stake was made against the policy. Contrary to media reports, 84-85 officers were supporting the DIG, Kumar said. No officer was in support of him.
