Rahul Gandhi returns to India, Likely attend Parliament today

New Delhi: Rahul Gandhi has returned to New Delhi from abroad and is expected to attend the Parliament today March 15, source said.

Rahul Gandhi was in the UK for the past couple of weeks, where he levelled serious allegations against the Central government  during several interactions.

The current cause of contention between the Congress and the BJP is a statement made by Rahul Gandhi at his alma mater, Cambridge University, in which he claimed that the Indian democracy was under attack and that various leaders, including himself, were being watched. He has been charged by the BJP for "defaming" the nation abroad following numerous political losses.

Rahul Gandhi stated during a talk at Cambridge University in England, "Everyone is aware that the Indian democracy is under threat and has been frequently in the news. I am a leader of the opposition in India, and we are navigating that territory. The institutional foundation needed for a democracy is being restricted, including the judiciary, the free press, and even the concept of mobilisation and movement. As a result, the fundamental foundation of Indian democracy is under attack."

The ruling party criticised him for his comments and requested a "apology" from the Wayanad MP. The Prime Minister, according to Congress, "discredited" the nation's accomplishments since Independence, the group retaliated. The second half of the Budget session has resumed from March 14 after a month-long recess. The Opposition's protests and demands for a JPC investigation into the Adani problem caused numerous disruptions and adjournments during the first part of the Budget session.
