For K'taka elections, Rahul Gandhi became 'Lingayat' from Brahmin, said this

Bangalore: Congress Lok Sabha MP President Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday (August 3, 2022) met religious leaders from the influential Lingayat community in Karnataka. Along with this, Rahul also took the gender initiation of the Lingayat community. Let us know that Rahul Gandhi has been calling himself Janeudhari Brahman and his new avatar has been seen as Lingayat. In fact, Rahul Gandhi, along with Congress state president DK Shivakumar and KC Venugopal, had reached Sri Murugha Matha in Chitradurga. Here Rahul took linga Diksha from the religious leader of the Matha, Dr Sri Shivamurthy Murugh Sharanaru.

In fact, usually, people of the Lingayat community perform this ritual by holding the crystal-made Ishtlinga around their necks and taking Diksha. During this meeting, Rahul Gandhi said, "I have been following Basavanna Ji for some time now and have been reading about him. So, it's a real honour for me to be here. I have a request, if you can send me someone who can tell me in detail about ishtlinga and shiva yoga, I will probably benefit from it.''

Let us know that assembly elections are proposed in Karnataka next year. The Lingayat community in the state has more than 18 per cent of the population. Political pundits believe that Rahul has taken the avatar of a Shiv bhakt only to woo the Lingayats in the next assembly elections. Earlier, Rahul Gandhi had described himself as Kashmiri Kaul Pandit, Janeudhari Brahmin and 'Dattatreya Gotra Wale Brahmin'. In fact, during the UP and Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi wanted to attract the external vote by proving himself to be a Brahmin, but that could not happen.

Now, in view of the assembly elections in Karnataka, Rahul Gandhi has shifted from Brahmin to Dikshit from Brahmin to Lingayat. They are following and reading about Basavanna, the founder of this community, who opposed the hegemonic system of the Brahmins. Basavanna believed in a karma-based system instead of a birth-based system. Therefore, in order to remove the evils from Hinduism, he established the new sect in the 12th century. Lingayats and Veerashaiva are the two largest communities of Karnataka and both of them were born by the 12th-century social reformer Basavanna. The Lingayat community is counted among the forward castes of Karnataka. Karnataka as well as Maharashtra, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have a substantial population of Lingayats. Generally, Rahul Gandhi, who became a Brahmin, a Shiv bhakt in the election season, has now become a Lingayat, in the coming time, more new forms of Rahul Gandhi may be seen.
