Rahul Gandhi writes to Kerala CM Vijayan, made this demand

Kochi: Former Congress President and current Lok Sabha MP Rahul Gandhi has written a letter to Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan. Rahul Gandhi has written this letter in connection with the investigation into the alleged suicide of Vishwanathan, a tribal youth in Wayanad. Referring to Vishwanathan, he has written in his letter that after a long wait of 8 years, Vishwanathan had welcomed his first child and a few days later his body was found hanging near the Kozhikode Medical College.

In a letter to CM Vijayan, Rahul has said that 'Vishwanathan's family alleges that on February 9, he was beaten up by falsely accusing him of theft. Vishwanathan went missing on that day itself and the very next day on February 10, his body was found hanging from a tree near the Medical College. The post-mortem report stated the cause of death as hanging.' In this case, the police are claiming that Vishwanathan committed suicide due to the humiliation of theft. Demanding a detailed inquiry into the matter, Rahul Gandhi wrote that he had also met the victim's family.

Rahul Gandhi urged the Chief Minister to start an investigation into the circumstances created during Vishwanathan's death and to order a fair investigation as well as to conduct a second post-mortem. Rahul Gandhi told CM Vijayan that the negligence done during the investigation of Vishwanathan's death should also be investigated. He demanded from the Chief Minister to provide jobs to one person in the family as well as compensation to the victim's family on humanitarian grounds.
