New Delhi: Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said on Wednesday that India is grappling with threats and challenges on many fronts, but we are vigilant and ready to face any daring. Without naming Pakistan, he said in his speech that India is also a victim of state-sponsored and state inflicted terrorism at the inauguration of the biennial 'Airo India' show and aviation exhibition here, which is now a global crisis. On tensions with China over the country's northern borders, he said, "We have seen unfortunate attempts to forcefully change the status quo with long-standing border disputes." Rajnath Singh further said, "India is vigilant and at all costs, our people are ready to fight and defeat any impudence to defend regional integrity." Tension has been continuing between India and China on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh for nine months. Despite negotiations at several levels, no breakthrough has been achieved and the deadlock continues. Last month, the two countries agreed to quickly repel frontline troops in disputed areas on the LAC. Indian and Chinese military officials have held nine rounds of talks to resolve the border dispute in eastern Ladakh.
