Bengaluru: Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday inaugurated the second LCA-Tejas production line of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). On this occasion, Rajnath said that with today's inauguration our pledge of self-reliant India has been fulfilled. This will carry the message to other countries of the world that we want to be self-sufficient in the field of technology and production and for this, our government is very serious. Rajnath Singh said that India cannot remain dependent on other countries for its security. India is strengthening its defense capabilities under the 'Bharat Nirman Abhiyan'. Tejas is not only indigenous but is ahead of its foreign counterparts on many parameters. The special thing is that it is also comparatively cheaper. Many countries have shown interest in Tejas. India will achieve a target of Rs 1.75 lakh crore in the field of defense manufacturing. Rajnath Singh also said that the delivery of the Tejas LCA to the Indian Air Force under the Rs 48,000-crore deal will start from March 2024 and HAL Chairman and Managing Director R Madhavan recently said that the completion of the total supply of 83 jets Up to 16 aircraft will be launched every year.
