New Delhi: India Defence Minister Rajnath Singh tested positive for Covid-19 today, April 20, and is currently under home quarantine. A team of doctors checked him and recommended he rest for a few days. The defense minister is currently under home quarantine with mild symptoms, an official statement released. The defense minister was scheduled to attend the Indian Air Force Commanders' conference in New Delhi today but had to skip it after being tested positive for the virus, the statement added. Yesterday he attended the Army Commanders conference during which he was accompanied by Chief of Army Staff General Manoj Pande and other senior Army officers. He practised firing on small arms firing simulator. Covid Resurgence in India: As Covid-19 cases surge, India has recorded 12,591 new cases in a day, the highest in around 8 months, while the active case burden increased to 65,286, as Union Health Ministry data updated on Thursday.
