Wearing Army's 73-year-old uniform, Rajput regiment descends on Rajpath, with rifle that smashed PAK

New Delhi: The 73rd Republic Day is being celebrated across the country today. In the meantime, Rajpath is also all set to show the picture of Virat Bharat. Before the parade began, wing commanders showered flowers on Rajpath by helicopter. This was followed by a demonstration of the country's strategic strength. During this time, the marching squad of the Rajput Regiment paraded wearing the uniform of the Indian Army used in 1950, as well as the soldiers of the Rajput Regiment carrying the rifle used in 1947-48.

 

 

The parade showcases the change of army uniforms and weapons that have taken place since independence. Gradually, various contingents of the army paraded on Rajpath. A combined band of Madras and Kumaon Regimental Centre and Assam Regiment participated in the Republic Day parade at Rajpath in Delhi. After this, the Air Force Band was also seen taking part in the parade. An Air Force contingent also marched on Rajpath to add glory to the parade.

Earlier, PM Narendra Modi reached the National War Memorial and paid homage to the soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice for the country. He was accompanied by Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Minister of State for Defence Ajay Bhatt, Defence Secretary Ajay Kumar and chiefs of the three wings of the Army, i.e. Army, Air Force and Navy.
