KATHMANDU: India's 73rd Republic Day was commemorated today at the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu.The ceremonies began with Ambassador Shri Vinay Mohan Kwatra hoisting the Indian national flag and reading the message of the Hon'ble President of India on the occasion.
Meanwhile, the Ambassador congratulated war widows and families of fallen troops by distributing NRs to them. 6.35 crores in addition to blankets
The event is part of the 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav,' an initiative of the Indian government to commemorate the 75th anniversary of India's independence and the remarkable achievements of Indians in all fields of human endeavour.
Many events will be held as part of the Mahotsav throughout the year and until August 2023.
This year, the Indian government plans to inaugurate 75 development projects in Nepal's provinces and districts that were made possible by India's help. In addition, the Embassy will donate 75 ambulances and school buses to various organisations and local governments throughout Nepal.
