New Delhi: The 73rd Republic Day is being celebrated across the country today, with people waving the tricolour in every nook and corner of the country. State Governors and Chief Ministers along with other personalities are celebrating the country's Republic Day. Meanwhile, leader of the opposition Shubhendu Adhikari has not been invited to the Republic Day celebrations of the West Bengal government. In fact, bjp leader Shubhendu Adhikari's name does not figure in the list of invitees issued by the state government.

Let me tell you that, this is the first time in West Bengal that the leader of the opposition has not been invited to the Republic Day celebrations. A clarification has also been given by the Mamata Banerjee government in West Bengal in the matter. It has been said by the state government that due to Corona, this time the Republic Day celebrations are being organized on a very small scale, so very few people have been invited to it.

However, some ministers of the state government have also not been invited to the event for this Republic Day celebrations. Only CM Mamata Banerjee, state culture minister Indranil Sen, transport minister attended the function. Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim and representatives from around 15 countries will be present. A maximum of 60 people will participate in the event.
