Ramdas Athawale- Mayawati relax, we will fulfil dreams of Babasaheb Ambedkar

Lucknow: The performance of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections has been extremely disappointing. This is the first time that the BSP has been reduced to just a 12 per cent vote share and has won only one seat. Reacting to this, Dalit leader and Republic Party of India (RPI) president Ramdas Athawale took a dig at BSP supremo Mayawati.

Union Minister Ramdas Athawale took a dig at Mayawati and said that she has been instructed to take a rest. He said BSP supremo Mayawati should now rest. Athawale said that Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar's 'Mission' will now be completed by the RPI. Union Minister Athawale issued a statement saying that his party will fulfil the dreams of Babasaheb across the country and emerge as the strongest alternative to the BSP in Uttar Pradesh.

At the same time, Athawale welcomed the Karnataka High Court's decision on the issue of hijab and said that dresses like hijab have no importance in educational institutions and uniforms should be promoted in educational institutions. Meanwhile, he also praised the film 'The Kashmir Files.' Athawale said that such films work to make the country and the society aware of its history and when the time is given, he will definitely watch this film.
