Rameshwar Oraon said about the violence on Ramnavami- 'the guilty will be punished'

Ranchi: State Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon inspected the situation in Hirahi Bhokta Bagan area regarding the violence during Ram Navami in Jharkhand. He also visited his hometown, Lohardaga, where the Finance Minister said the violence during Ram Navami festival was the result of a conspiracy by criminals. In Lohardaga, there were riots and stone-pelting during the Ram Navami procession on April 10. In this case one person lost his life and about 12 others were injured. Talking to reporters, he said that the incident was unfortunate as peace was prevailing across the state under the secular Hemant Soren government.

The same Finance Minister Oraon assured that the criminals would be identified by the police and they would be punished. He said criminals would not be spared. Also, some people have been arrested in relation to the said violence and action will be initiated after investigation. The minister further said that the police and administration are monitoring the situation and have made arrests based on the evidence. Meanwhile, Jharkhand Police prevented BJP national vice president and former state CM Raghubar Das from meeting the family members of the victims.

Talking to the media at the Circuit House, Raghubar Das alleged that the Lohardaga violence at the time of Ram Navami was pre-planned to disturb the prevailing harmony.  He alleged that such a conspiracy was being hatched continuously to disturb peace and communal harmony, especially during festivals. Along with this, Raghuvar Das told Rajya Sabha MP Dheeraj Prasad Sahu as the architect of the incident and also demanded immediate arrest of the criminals and strict action against them.
