For the first time, a rapist has been sentenced to death in Rajasthan after the POCSO act convicted for rape with children below 12 years of age. The court heard the case of Pintu Thakur (19 years) accused in the matter for only two and a half months. A 7-month-old girl was raped in Alwar, Rajasthan. Judge Jagendra Agarwal said that such an act is shameful to humanity, who only knows how to laugh and cry. When she will able to understand the thinking, she would feel that taking birth on earth was a curse for her. If the sentence of imprisonment is also given, the wrong message will go among the people, hence the death penalty is justified. On 9th May 2018, at Alwar, there was a sordid incident in Harasana village of Laxmangarh. In the incident, a drunken young man took the 7-month-old child from a neighbouring house and raped her. The victim was seven months old innocent, who could not even see or understand something. In the last 73 days, the SC/ST Special Court of Alwar has given the death sentence to the accused, keeping the matter on priority. In the night of May 9, the people of the area recovered the child near a bush nearby. The innocent had blood on the genitalia and the drunken accused ran away. The locals informed the police and the police had arrested the accused. On May 10, a case was registered in the Pocso Act in Laxmangarh police station, officer Prahalad Sahay filed a charge sheet against the accused.
