A statement issued by Rashtrapati Bhavan said, "Visits to Rashtrapati Bhavan and Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum will remain closed from January 1 for the general public. The Guard of Change ceremony will also not take place till further notice. '

A statement issued by Rashtrapati Bhavan on Friday said, "In view of the increasing cases of corona virus, rashtrapati bhavan, Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum is closed till further orders to the general public as a precautionary measure from tomorrow (January 1, 2022). At the same time, there will be no 'Change of Guard' programme till further orders. The decision has been taken by Rashtrapati Bhavan at a time when corona cases are on the rise in the country.

According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, a total of 1,270 cases of Omicron have been reported so far from 23 States and Union Territories in the country. Maharashtra and Delhi recorded the highest number of 450 and 320 cases of Omicron. However, out of 1,270 patients in Omicron, 374 patients have recovered.
