Recovery of the Stolen Vehicle of JP Nadda's Wife, Tracking Down Saleem, Shahid, and Others

New Delhi: On March 19, 2024, the Fortuner belonging to Mallika, the wife of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president JP Nadda, was stolen from the Giri Nagar area of Delhi. After 15 days, on March 4, 2024, a coordinated effort by the Delhi, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh Police led to the recovery of the vehicle in Varanasi. During the operation, several members of the gang responsible for the theft were arrested across different states. The stolen Fortuner had changed hands three times within the 15-day period.

Reports suggest that the theft occurred while the Fortuner was sent for servicing in the Giri Nagar area. The incident prompted JP Nadda's driver, Joginder Singh, to file a First Information Report (FIR) at the Govindpuri police station. Subsequently, the Delhi Police initiated a search for the stolen vehicle. Through CCTV footage, investigators traced the Fortuner's route from Delhi to Gurugram and eventually to Budkal in Faridabad.

Collaborating with the Haryana Police, Delhi Police identified two thieves, Shivansh and Shahid, as the culprits behind the theft. The duo was part of a larger car theft syndicate. Shivansh was apprehended near Patiala House on March 22, leading to the revelation of the involvement of Shahid, Farooq, and Shahkul in the theft.

According to the investigation, the four suspects had used a stolen Hyundai Creta from Noida to carry out the theft. After stealing the Fortuner, they concealed it at Farooq's farmhouse in Faridabad. Subsequently, the vehicle was sold to a customer named Salim from Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh, who then sold it to Mohammad Raees in Sitapur. Raees further sold it to Furkan in Amroha.

Following the trail, the police apprehended Salim in Lakhimpur Kheri and Mohammad Raees in Sitapur. However, the Fortuner was not found in their possession. Raees revealed that he had sold the vehicle to Furkan, leading the police to Amroha. Although Furkan was located, the vehicle was not found with him. Furkan disclosed that he had parked the Fortuner in the parking lot of Beniya Bagh in Varanasi.

Upon receiving this information, the police conducted a raid in Varanasi and successfully recovered JP Nadda's wife's Fortuner from the mentioned location. So far, arrests have been made in connection with the theft, including Shivansh, Shahid, Salim, Mohammad Raees, and Furkan. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend other individuals involved in the incident through further raids and investigations.
