The Telangana High Court has recommended that the government explore a one-time age relaxation from 44 to 49 for persons applying for Group-1 and other forthcoming government positions. In response to a petition filed by some job seekers, the court issued the order. The latest notification for Group-1 positions, they told the High Court, was in 2011. Many job applicants who had been preparing for the test since then, they claimed, had become ineligible because the upper age limit was 44 years. The Tamil Nadu State Public Service Commission has also eliminated the upper age limit. According to the petitioners, the state government has not issued a direct recruitment announcement since 2017. Hence, a request for age relaxation for people applying for services other than Group-1 has been made. The court requested that the TS Chief Secretary consider an age relaxation for people between the ages of 44 and 49. The lawsuit was postponed until June 17, 2022, to allow the government to respond.
