Reliance Foundation launches NBA match in India

Mumbai: NBA match begins for the first time in India. It was done by Nita Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Foundation. He handed over the match balls to NBA commissioner Adam Silver and captains of Sacramento Kings and Indiana Pacers. The two teams competed at the NSCI Dome in Mumbai where 3000 children from the Reliance Foundation Junior NBA program were also present. It is known that all these children were invited by Nita Ambani to watch this match on the special occasion of the completion of the 6-year partnership of NBA and Reliance Foundation.

Reliance Foundation runs junior NBA programs in India in which 1.10 crore children from 34 cities across 20 states are involved. Under this program, children are encouraged to have healthy and active lifestyles by connecting them to basketball. On the occasion of NBA's historic debut in India, Nita Ambani said, "It is my dream to see India becoming a multi-sport nation. Reliance Foundation is excited to present NBA matches for the first time in India and to celebrate its 6-year partnership with NBA. It is my mission to promote education and sports among children and I hope that India will one day be at the peak of sports.
